So yeah, I feel renewed as an artist, and Im falling in love with drawing all over again.

Learn from the best

I've been in a bit of an artistic slump, so Ive decided to take my teacher, Mike Manley's advice more seriously. Besides the standard draw, draw, draw advice, he said that if you like a piece of art you find on the internet, you should save it to a folder, come back to it later, and ask yourself why you like it so much. Really look at it and try to understand what it is that draws you to it, then, as with all good artists, take that element, and make it your own.


With all of the amazing artists on this site, Ive gotten a lot of inspiration, and hopeully Ill post something Im proud of when I can.

So yeah, I just picked up The Legend of Zelda, Phantom Hourglass today, and so far, its pretty sweet. Its a bit strange using the stylus to walk and attack, and just about everything else in the game, but its a refreshing take on the Zelda franchise, even though its a series that doesnt really need any revamping.


Well, time to get back to putting off studying for an exam. Cheers.

So, Im not completely new to deviant art, but Im still kinda learning my way around things here, so, hopefully Ill have some decent submissions up sometime soon.


As you can see by my watch list, I think there are a ton of incredibly talented artists on this site, and I hope that sometime Ill post some pieces worthy of being on deviant art.


Right now Im trying to get better at using my wacom, and my newly acquired photoshop. Im in school for animation, and its kinda hard to dick around with photoshop when I have a hundred After Effects projects due. Still, Im trying my best to find tutorials, learn it on my own, and draw inspiration from the fine artists on this site.
